About

Mission Statement

Our mission is to build a resilient community through rucking, service, and shared experiences. We aim to inspire individuals to push their limits and connect deeply with others. Polaris Rucking Crew (PRC) is dedicated to fostering personal growth, promoting physical and mental resilience, and creating a lasting positive impact on both individuals and the wider community. We believe in the power of shared challenges to help people break through boundaries, form lifelong connections, and become resources for their community.

Vision

We envision a world where everyone has access to a supportive community that promotes physical health, mental resilience, and meaningful human connections. Our goal is to build a global network of ruckers dedicated to leading active, purposeful lives while serving their communities. At PRC, we transform lives one step at a time through shared physical challenges and the bonds formed through teamwork, camaraderie, and service.

About Rucking

Rucking is a fitness activity that combines hiking or walking with a weighted backpack (rucksack). It’s an accessible yet highly effective way to build strength, endurance, and cardiovascular health. At PRC, we believe that rucking is more than just physical exercise—it’s a mental and social experience that encourages growth, both individually and as a team. Rucking is low-impact and scalable, making it suitable for all fitness levels.

About Ruck Clubs

Ruck clubs are community-based groups that regularly come together to ruck, train, and support one another. At Polaris Rucking Crew, we emphasize the concept of social fitness—using physical activity to connect with others and promote well-being. Our members come from all walks of life, but they share a common goal: to push their limits, support each other, and grow together as a community.

About Polaris Rucking Crew

Polaris Rucking Crew (PRC) is a civilian ruck club dedicated to building human connection through physical challenges and community-driven events. PRC Leadership

Polaris Rucking Crew is led by individuals passionate about community, fitness as a health metric, physical resilience, personal growth, and mental fortitude. Our leadership draws from experiences in fitness, community building, and outdoor endurance events, emphasizing not only the physical benefits of rucking but also the emotional and social rewards it brings. We are dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all members.

Affiliated Ruck Clubs

PRC is proud to be affiliated with the Munich Rucking Crew, a like-minded group based in Germany that shares our mission of building strong communities through rucking. This partnership allows for shared events, training sessions, and community outreach efforts. Members of both clubs regularly collaborate to further the mission of rucking and build international friendships within the rucking community.

How to Get Involved

Getting involved with PRC is easy! Whether you’re new to rucking or a seasoned veteran, all are welcome. Our events are designed for all fitness levels, and we are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.

What Do I Need to Join?

To join, all you need is a rucksack (backpack) and a willingness to participate. Beginners typically start with a lighter weight (around 10-20 lbs), while experienced ruckers may carry more. Comfortable shoes and outdoor attire are recommended. If you’re not sure what to bring, just come as you are—our community will help guide you. We can lend equipment to newcomers and provide recommendations for purchasing affordable gear.

Why the Polaris Rucking Crew?

Joining Polaris Rucking Crew means becoming part of a supportive, driven community that values honesty, health, effort, and camaraderie. We believe that shared physical challenges create personal growth and build lifelong bonds. As reflected in works like Tribe by Sebastian Junger, community is an anchor in challenging times; it is a way to combat isolation and loneliness by finding a purpose bigger than oneself.

What If I Don’t Have the Gear?

Don’t worry if you don’t have all the gear to get started! Our crew is about inclusivity, and we have resources to help you get started, whether that means lending gear, suggesting creative ways to begin with what you have, or offering recommendations on affordable options.

Support Our Mission

PRC currently operates as an LLC with the goal of becoming a nonprofit organization. All expenses are covered out of pocket by leadership, and there are no paid salaries. Expenses vary between event costs, purchases of gear and efforts to expand our outreach.

If you’d like to support Polaris Rucking Crew and our efforts to build an inclusive, connected community, consider purchasing our merch! Every item—whether it’s a t-shirt, bandana, or patch—directly contributes to our ability to give back and ensure that no one is excluded due to financial barriers.

Many people struggle to make ends meet, whether temporarily or long-term. Life can be financially tough, and we refuse to let money determine who gets to be part of this community. At the same time, we recognize that most people prefer to earn what they receive rather than simply being given something for free.

That’s why profits from merch sales fund our “earn it”“earn it” system, allowing local members to work toward earning their gear instead of having to buy it.

By choosing to support PRC through merch rather than traditional donations, you’re doing more than just funding a cause—you’re actively strengthening a growing community, showing solidarity with our mission, and directly impacting fellow members in a meaningful way.

Partners

In the future, we hope to partner with businesses and organizations that share our vision for promoting the values of community, health, and resilience. Such partnerships will help us fund our events, support our members, and grow our impact. If you represent such a company or organization, please get in touch. Together, we aim to build an environment where physical and mental well-being are cultivated.
