Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is rucking?
A: “Rucking” is walking with a weighted backpack. It’s a simple yet effective way to improve fitness, build resilience, and connect with others. The word “ruck” comes from the German Rucksack, meaning backpack.
Q: Do I need special gear to join?
A: No! We provide all the necessary gear for our activities—rucks, weights, sandbags, and more. Just let us know in advance, and we’ll make sure you have what you need. At no point will you be required to purchase anything to participate.
Q: How do I earn PRC merchandise?
A: Through our “Earn It” system, you can earn items like stickers, bandanas, t-shirts, and more by attending weekly meetups, participating in events, and completing special challenges.
Q: I’ve seen PRC members with specialized gear like GORUCK Ruckers, branded sandbags, and PRC-branded shirts. Isn’t this supposed to be about inclusion? How can you call it non-profit and accessible to everyone if not everyone can afford this gear?
A: PRC’s mission is rooted in inclusion, and we are committed to ensuring financial barriers never prevent participation.
- Gear Accessibility: We provide free access to all the essential equipment needed for training and events.
- Earn It System: Members can earn gear like t-shirts and patches by showing up and being part of the crew. Learn more here.
